Pixel Pitchside by Google Pixel Campaign
Volumes was engaged by This Is Tommy as the production partner for the Pitchside segment of Google’s Pixel 9 campaign, part of a larger global initiative showcasing the phone in live sports environments. The project was shot within a futsal arena, with the Pixel phone used as the primary capture device.
Our role focused on end-to-end production planning and on-set execution. This included location sourcing, permitting, insurance, crew coordination, and full shoot management, covering all operational aspects on set apart from cast, clients, and art. Given the constraints of shooting on mobile devices, the team also ran technical tests to validate capture quality and reliability in a live sports environment.
Working closely with the director — who planned the film from an editorial, cut-to-cut perspective — Volumes translated the intended edit into a practical shoot plan. This involved breaking down sequences, advising on production and post-production workflows, and ensuring the on-set execution supported the final edit. While no post work was handled by our team, the project required tight alignment between creative intent and production reality to deliver under real-world conditions.
